What is
Athlete's Foot
Athlete's foot is a contagious fungal infection of the skin on the feet, most often affecting the skin between
the toes and the soles, thriving in warm and moist environments such as locker rooms and sweaty shoes. Symptoms include itching, burning, and stinging between the toes, scaly or peeling skin, blisters, and in some cases thickened or discolored toenails. Treatment requires antifungal medication — topical cream or spray for most cases, oral antifungals for severe or nail infections — and keeping the feet clean and dry. Without treatment, the infection spreads, can involve the toenails, and may transfer to the groin (jock itch) or hands. Red flags requiring prompt in-person care include spreading redness, swelling, pus, fever, or any foot infection in a person with diabetes or poor circulation.

How your visit works
You'll complete a short online assessment describing your symptoms and health history. A licensed medical provider reviews it — usually within the hour — and determines the safest, most appropriate treatment. If a prescription is appropriate, it's sent directly to your pharmacy.
When to seek in-person or emergency care instead
The same fungus that causes athlete's foot can also cause jock itch — mention it during your visit if you're noticing symptoms in both areas, so it can be treated fully.
